We try to break our straps so you never do
Before a Bridge strap goes on sale, it is pulled, twisted, folded, rubbed and sprayed with salt in the lab. Here is what each test does, and why it matters on your wrist.

The standard
Looking good is the easy part. Lasting is the test.
A watch strap is worn every day: through sweat, shirt cuffs and car doors, on and off the charger. So before a design is approved, it goes through five machine tests.
- PullHow much force the strap, stitching and connectors can take.
- TwistWhether the connectors keep their grip after repeated turning.
- FlexWhether the material cracks where it bends.
- RubWhether the colour stays on the strap, not your cuff.
- Salt sprayWhether the metal hardware resists corrosion.
Where it starts
It starts with the hide
Our leathers are chosen by hand in Italy by Leo, our head of materials, who checks each hide's grain and finish before anything is cut.
Test 01 · Pull
The pull test: strength under load
A tensile tester clamps the strap at both ends and pulls, slowly and steadily, until something gives. It shows how much force the leather, the stitching and the connectors can take, so a snag on a door handle doesn't end with your watch on the floor.
Test 02 · Twist
The twist test: connectors that stay put
A torsion tester turns the strap's fittings again and again, the same motion as taking a watch on and off every day. The connectors that lock into your Apple Watch have to keep their grip and their shape.
Test 03 · Flex
The flex test: no cracks at the bend
A sample is folded back and forth by machine, over and over, the way a strap bends each time you fasten the buckle. We look for cracking, peeling and stitching that works loose.
Test 04 · Rub
The rub test: colour that stays put
Weighted heads rub the surface back and forth to check that the colour holds, so a navy strap doesn't leave its mark on a white shirt cuff.
Test 05 · Salt spray
The salt spray test: hardware that won't corrode
Buckles, links and connectors sit in a sealed chamber of salt mist, a harsh stand-in for sweat and sea air. It shows whether the metal will mark or corrode long before you would notice on your wrist.

Without a shadow of a doubt, this strap belongs on a watch 20x the price of the Apple Watch. Pure class.
The kind of strap you wear when you need to take things up a notch.
Racing fan or not, this strap just exudes heritage and timelessness.
This is genuinely my favourite Bridge strap to date… so sophisticated despite its sporty silhouette.
